A hot sunny day and the tigers went out to play at Adwick. A couple of tigers were ill which left a small team in the morning all boys with 10 swims between them. The 10 swims produced 8 personal best times, and 1x3rd, 3x4th, 5x5th 1x7th and 1x8th. Some smooth swims swum to the insructions of the head coach. Well done to Owen Smith, Jack Green and David Harvey.

After lunch provided by the gala organisers with some very nice food including homemade fruit cake and carrot cake we moved on to the afternoon session.

This session saw a few more swimmers pool side with a strong showing in the girls 11 year old age group they has some tough competition with large numbers entered all the girls came away with personal best times with some excellent swims -Kathy Clay, Charlotte Wales, Lauren Wales and Charlotte Tilley. In the older age group Emilie White also performed well with personal best times in all 4 of her swims and was rewarded with glass bricks for them all ranging from 2nd to 5th. Not to be outdone by the girls we also saw Harry Phillips and Jake Robinson swimming in the 12 yrs and 10 yrs age groups. Harry had a bit of a mixed afternoon but tried hard in his races.

Jake followed up from his success at the Minster meet his first race earned him a speeding ticket -too fast for the grading. His next two races saw him take 1st he then enquired whether there was a top boy prize, which there was, he wanted to know whether there was any chance he could win it. Everything went right for Jake after his final races taking 1st in them both he asked if we thought he had won top boy. We said it was a strong possibilty but would have to wait for results. Jake came away with a large silver cup for top boy, 4 x1st place glass blocks, a speeding ticket and a 11yr old 50m county qualifying time. Guess dad needs to put a few more shelves up!
